Hi, I'm Steven — the guy behind the list.
I'm a Metro Detroit / Michigan native who has spent the last decade-plus eating, nibbling & sipping my way through cities. Somewhere along the way the emails got long enough and the searching got more difficult so they needed a home. This is it.
Nobody paid to be on this site, and no algorithm ranked a thing. In fact, each category is in ABC order. Every spot here is a place I've actually sat down at, ordered too much, and walked away happy. If I send you somewhere, it's because I'll likely be back there on my next trip.
By day, I'm a Sales & Operations leader in the travel and transportation world. Currently, Director of Business Development for Transportation Products at Smyth Companies doing fun stuff with baggage, RFID tags and the like. I spent 10+ years at United Airlines, logging millions of miles for business & leisure travel and been fortunate to visit some fun places along the way. A career spent moving people and product around the map turns out to be pretty good training for knowing where to eat, sip & get in a good adventure once you land.
When I'm not at a table or perched up on a bar stool, I'm probably cheering on the Michigan Wolverines or North Carolina Tar Heels, playing some very mediocre golf with my buddies or checking off another Half Marathon. I'm working my way to run a half in every state — 17 states down, 33 more to go!
